Simon is the Managing Partner of Simon McAleese Solicitors. His qualification for this position is based on over a decade's experience in practising law. Simon's legal career commenced when he attended University College Dublin and graduated with a Bachelor of Civil Law Degree. He completed his training with Matheson Ormsby Prentice ("MOP") and qualified as a solicitor in 1990. He remained with MOP and was made a partner in its commercial litigation department in 1998. A specialist in media law and corporate litigation, he and three colleagues departed MOP in September 2002 in order to form Simon McAleese Solicitors. 

As the Managing Partner of Simon McAleese, Simon advises both corporate and private clients on dispute resolution. He has cultivated a proactive and aggressive dispute management strategy. Where appropriate, cases are disposed of by way of direct negotiations at an early stage. This ethos and approach to litigation reduces the overall cost for clients and brings the dispute to a swift conclusion.

Simon, who is listed in the Legal 500, acts for a number     of media organizations and individuals both domestic and international. Simon has been involved in high profile and significant litigation. Such litigation has included Libel, Contract, Judicial Review, Employment, Tribunals of Inquiry and Constitutional matters.

Simon's professional memberships include the Incorporated Law Society of Ireland, the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association, and the Media Society. Simon is also regularly invited to comment on legal issues in both the print and broadcasting media.
